Vile Reign – Grind Your Head In
New England has always been home to a multitude of great punk, metal, and grind influenced bands. Vile Reign hails from Providence, RI and plays a mix of grindcore/punk with power violence and black metal influences. This “world of heavy” group consists of members from RI bands White Mice, Hayworth, and Noose. They play a short power set that is absolutely crushing, and their heavy riffs and lightning fast beats are punctuated with precise stops. Drummer Zach Warf approaches this band as a beat scientist, deviating from the typical blast-beats that are so familiar to jaded metal heads everywhere. High pitched screamed vocals accompany the abrasive grind cocktail. Any metal folks and punks alike will totally dig on these dudes.
Vile Reign is doing gigs regularly around the New England area, and recently recorded an album that should be released soon. For now, here they are live on the Fourth of July in Providence RI @ Liberty Fest.
