The Warriors Come Out to Play On PSN

Rockstar’s The Warriors has finally arrived on PSN. Based on the classic “Ancient Greek myth as retold with 1970s street gangs” film, The Warriors video game is my personal favorite Rockstar property. If you haven’t played it, here are a few reasons why you should:

  • It’s basically a modern Double Dragon-esque beat-em-up and it’s actually fun.
  • The action is vicious.  There isn’t a lot of gore, but man, the attacks look and sound brutal. You’ll wince the first time you bash someone with a brick.
  • Tons of the original cast members reprise their roles.
  • Not only does it go through the events of the movie, you live through the entire origin of the gang. The movie’s story is only the final portion of the game.
  • The Baseball Furies.

This PSN edition is based off the original PS2 version of the game.  It costs $9.99.  Can you count, sucka? That’s just 10 bucks for the incredible tale of a handful of men who refused to remove their studded-leather vests, even it meant they’d have to “bop all the way back to Coney.”

Obligatory “Can you dig it?” video:
