0Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic comes to iOS
Ten years since its original release, iPad owners can experience the magic that is BioWare’s Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. If you’ve never played it before, you are in for a treat. I’m barely a Star Wars fan but I love the first two KOTOR games.
Taking place centuries before the movies, Knights of the Old Republic is a traditional BioWare RPG where you get to fly around the galaxy as a Jedi Knight, get in adventures, and Force-choke the hell out of people. Plus, since the Star Wars universe is so “good versus evil”, this is actually one of the few games with a binary “moral choice” system that actually fits.
Will you pay the orphanage’s rent or will you burn it down and sell the children into slavery? Both are viable choices for Darth Your–Guy: fair-weather psychopath.
The controls feel a little clunky on the iPad—but it’s exactly what you’d expect. Besides, once you get a lightsaber (or two) you become pretty much invincible anyway.
Man, first The Warriors, now KOTOR? It must be my birthday. It’s $9.99 on the App store.
