Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot!

Whatever will we do without Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot?

Okay. I admit that this looks bad. If you don’t pay much attention to your queue, it probably seems like Netflix is at death’s door. This is actually just business as usual though.

This is just life with Netflix’s revolving library. Due to licensing deals made with the studios, certain content is rotated in and out of Netflix’s streaming catalog at different intervals. All things considered, it has been a fairly reliable cycle over the years.

The best advice I can give you is to watch what you can, but don’t start purging your Instant Queue. When the movies or shows return to the service—and they usually do—they’ll automatically be re-added to your List. Seriously, this must be the third time Serpico has disappeared and/or reappeared for me.

And hey, buck up. We may be losing some great content but here is some of the awesome new stuff that’s arriving on January 1st:

Joining Streaming

  • American Psycho (2000)
  • Raging Bull (1980)
  • Thelma And Louise (1991)
  • West Side Story (1961)
  • What’s Eating Gilbert Grape (1993)
  • Big Trouble In Little China (1986)
  • Breakfast At Tiffany’s (1961)
  • Bull Durham (1988)
  • Red Dawn (1984)
  • Mouse Hunt (1997)
  • Spaceballs (1987)
  • Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979)
  • The Chinese Connection (1972)
  • Amelie (2001)
  • Grapes Of Wrath (1940)
  • Planes, Trains, And Automobiles (1987)
  • Children Of A Lesser God (1986)
  • Scrooged (1988)
  • Days Of Thunder (1990)
  • The Day The Earth Stood Still (1951)
  • The Talented Mr Ripley (1999)
  • Tora! Tora! Tora! (1970)
  • Death Race 2000 (1975)
  • Ghost (1990)
  • Good Burger (1997)
  • Play It Again, Sam (1972)

Friends, don’t mourn the movies we’ve lost. Instead, rejoice in the movies we’re getting. Especially Amélie. Watch Amélie. It’s the greatest feel-good movie of all time. I mean, look at this thing:

P.S.

Boy I’m gonna miss watching Kids in the Hall while I work…… Oh well, at least there’s still Whitest Kids you Know. Now all we need is strangers with candy.
