Ratchet & Clank: The Movie
Ratchet & Clank are coming to your local movie theater in 2015. Insomniac Games today announced that the 3D feature film is being created in collaboration with Blockade Entertainment and Rainmaker Entertainment. You may remember Rainmaker’s first theatrical feature, 2013’s Escape From Planet Earth, or perhaps their other works from back in the day, ReBoot and Transformers: Beast Wars.
Out of all the video games that could be turned into films, Ratchet & Clank seems like a no-brainer. Not only has this immensely popular series sold over 26 million copies across multiple Sony platforms, but the games have always had a “Saturday morning cartoon” vibe to them; making the jump to a cinematic story shouldn’t be much of a stretch. Also, Insomiac’s in-house writer, T.J. Fixman, will be scripting the upcoming movie.
They just might pull this off!
