Poker Night 2: Ante Up, You Primitive Screw-heads

Telltale’s Poker Night 2 is now available for preorder on Steam. It lets you play cards with both Ash and Brock Samson.  What else do you need to know?

The first Poker Night was a fun little no-consequences game of poker with four beloved characters: Max from Sam & Max, Tycho from Penny Arcade, Strong Bad from Homestar Runner, and The Heavy from Team Fortress 2.  It was a $5 experiment that turned out to be one of the more enchanting titles on Steam.

For the sequel, Telltale is upping the stakes with a whole new cast of characters. Now you’ll be throwing down with Claptrap from Borderlands, Max’s canine partner, Sam, and the aforementioned Ash of Evil Dead/Army of Darkness fame. Last but not least, The Venture Bros.’ own Brock Samson who has been described by Sidecast’s own Matt as “the greatest character on television.” All heroic Americans are encouraged to agree.

In the first title, the only real objective was to play long enough to hear all the funny conversations. This time, you’ll actually have some prizes to play for, including exclusive skins and heads for Borderlands 2 and hats for Team Fortress 2.  So there you go. Incentives.

Oh, and your dealer will be GLaDOS from Portal. This is going to be awesome.

Poker Night 2 will also be coming to XBLA and PSN.

If this game can be played windowed, without a time limit, i’d love to keep it open in the background and play while I work on stuff.

TellTale is quickly becoming a huge force in the games industry. You can tell they really love all of the licenses they work with.
