0Quest for the Grail: International Treasure Hunt – London & NYC
Let’s get hyper-local for a second. If you’re in New York City or London on April 20th, you can join the Quest for the Grail, a live-action adventure game to reclaim, you guessed it, the Holy Grail.
Quest for the Grail is one of those big, hipstery events that happen from time-to-time in New York City—and apparently London, too. It’s a fundraising event for the London’s TimeWave art and technology festival.
Whichever side of the pond you’re on, here are your mission details:
In this 2-hour game, teams of 10 players will follow clues and hunt for sacred objects across the city. Along the way the teams will be pursued by “minotaurs” bent on slowing them down.
At some point, each team will have to “invent a special drink,” which is probably secret code for: “you’ll have to drink something gross, yet sanitary.” (Well… it’ll definitely be sanitary in the U.S., but London? Who knows what your godforsaken British food laws are.)
Only one team will earn enough points to discover the Grail’s super-secret location.
Translation: It’s a big stupid scavenger hunt.
I’d mock this, but I’ve been a big stupid man-child myself on occasion:
