0Prison Architect Alpha: We Built a Prison!
Introversion, the developers of Uplink and Darwinia, are trying to build the ultimate jail simulator. Their upcoming title, Prison Architect, is an adorably bleak take on the business management genre. Think Roller Coaster Tycoon with chow-line shankings.
Curious players can preorder the game directly from Introversion’s website, using a Kickstarter-style tiered payment plan. While details are scant at the moment, we do know that the game will be coming to PC and Mac, at least. Just be aware, Prison Architect is still in an admittedly raw alpha state, and will likely stay that way for a while. There is no release date in sight.
Alpha customers will get a sneak peak at the game-in-progress. For 30 bucks, you’ll get alpha access, allowing you to watch as Introversion builds toward the final release. At $40, Introversion will throw in all four of its previous games, including Darwinia, Multiwinia, Defcon, and Uplink. (Each of these is beautifully bizarre in it’s own way. Especially Uplink. Uplink rules.)
